type II power steering pump/reservoir

Having a hell of a time with type II power steering pump, can anyone help me with picture or explain the proper line coming to and from the power steering pump to power steering box and remote reservoir. One side of the remote reservoir is open and flows freely, other side has a taller nut with a hole in the side of it. Which line goes to the back of the pump? I tried the larger hose and after bleeding the air out of the system pump still howling. Then switched large hose from back of pump to tall nut side of the reservoir and bled air again and this time made enough foam for my coffee. Also made the front line from the pump to the box chatter like hell like way to much pressure. Something is a miss here??? Please help 327 sbc march performance style track serpentine set up.

The HP line from the pump goes to the box inlet, the box outlet should go into the res fitting, then from the open res port and back into the pump suction.
