Post ultimate sleeper

Hy people,

My name is Jason and I have a 95' crown victoria.
I'm tired of the anemic power of my stock SOHC, and would to upgrade to a chevy smallblock, If any one has done the conversion, any advice would be helpfull, and If anybody else would like to put in their two cents, it will also be appreciated.

Keep on roddin

it ain't out of the car yet, at this point, it is purely hypothetical, I've got to get some loot together to make it happen, but if you want, when I do, I'll post it for sale.

If it still runs than it's probably out of my price range ( I really only need the heads).

if i were you id contact procharger and get a complete kit for the vic. you can add about 85% for just under 3 grand, this will put you in the 350 Hp range, if you want more you can put a nitrous bottle in the trunk and be knocking on 500 whenever you need to kick some import, or chevy butt.

try this link: http://www.crownvicmuscle.com/galler...x.php?car=jeff

he´s running 12.97@106.90 in the quarter running a used vortec supercharger he picked up for 1300. so stick with the ford powerplant. remember there are prople running 9.s with supercharged 4.6 sohc´s in the mustang crowd.

Deuce has the right idea, putting a sbc in the Vic will probably run you around 3 grand or more just to get it in there and running. Dan

Couldn't you just put a hopped up 5.0 ford in her and just use all the hardware from an older Crown Vic that came with a 5.0.

I've thought about forced induction, and about using old 302 hardware, I just can't make up my mind. My 4.6 does have a few ticks, kinda' sounds like a collapsed lifter, and I'm afraid to crack open that engine. I can get a new one for about 700 bucks, so I'm waiting to see if the motor will frag itself. I think I may reconsider, the supercharger sounds like a good idea, maybe I can get one used or something, anyway I thought that it might be something different in the sea of the same. I know that I can build a good running smallblock chevy with L31 heads, pumpgas friendly compression, and a fair bumpstick and make close to 400 ponies, and all that without the added complexity of a supercharger. I'm going to check out the quick crownvic and talk to that guy and see about the does and dont's. thx for the advice everybody.

Anything you can do with a SBC, can be done with a 302 or 351W, but you will be able to make the swap using junkyard parts from an earlier Crown Vic. That would simplify a lot of compatibility issues.

A sbc in a Ford is 'the sea of the same'. Now drop a balllls to the walls 302 in there instead of that 4.6 and that's cool.
