For a large car parts cleaner (that's a hell of an ultrasound unit, BTW) I agree w/using one of the alkaline cleaners. Not for aluminum or alloys or painted surfaces. Cheapest is either the super concentrated "Black Maxx" from NAPA (one fluid ounce- about 10 worth- to a quart of water equals the strength of the average bottle of 409 or Fantastik, etc.), or driveway cleaner sold by many parts stores. This is a 409-type alkaline cleaner, but more concentrated and w/o any perfumes or pretty dyes added to appease housewives.
