Undercoating

Have any of you used truck bedliner paint for an undercoating? I've put it on the underside on my glass body thinking it will help when picking up little stones. I'll be putting it on the under side of the fenders as well. Any one have experinece with this? Can you paint over it? How does it hold up? Thanks in advance for any replies.

My brother did the underside and trunk area of his 67' GTO about 2 years ago. It still looks good. I don't know about painting over it but you can get different colors. I plan to do the underside of my fiberglass body Willys for the same reasons.

bedliner material

32 Vicky;

We do a lot of Street Rod work and we do use bed liner material quite often. It works well under the fenders to help protect from the star chips from rocks hitting the underside. I can't say how well the cheap stuff from some auto parts stores would work but I can tell you that using good quality like rhino, line x, armadillo or scorpion all work well. I like Scorpion for the underside as the color is intermixed with the solution to get a good color match. Rhino and line X work well by painting over it. You should be happy with the results.
