Here is my 2 cents. We just finished a 51 ford F1. The frame was blasted and 2 wet coats of SPI epoxy sprayed. 3000 miles later looks like the day it was shot. Oil from the transmission wipes off and no chips. The new black has UV built in so no more chalking. I will do this on the next one, nothing over the epoxy.

Shine,

Did you still spray Lizardskin inside even after the Bedliner?

eastwood ceramic black

Nice!!!!
A perfect sheen!!
Your car? nice job!!
I've been looking for a nice chassie black, ever since the new voc laws up here in Canada its hard to get what i want, will have to see if I can get that here!!
most of my customers would'nt pay for that level of perfection, but I have a GTO that I will be doing soon....
All that hard work paid off!!
Thanks!

i order it right from eastwoods,i gets sent via fedex, no proplems.
i too am screwed by the new laws,im ready for paint and dont know wat to use waterborne or crappy solent,i hear the prospray makes a decent solvent.
im leaning towardfs ppg envirobase waterborne.this is my first paint- body job so im learning.you can get spi clear here.im using that.you gotta reduce that ceramnic paint at the %20 recomendation to get it to flow,i test sprayed 5 times before i was happy

Eastwood ceramic black

Awsome! thanks!
I've been painting for a long time... been through alot of changes, i've used Sikkens waterborne and Aquabase waterborne and both bases are nice to use, its the clears that are not as nice as the oldschool clears they were "skinny"" pound it on how you want it to look and a variety of speeds and qualities, not thick like todays clears, completes are more of an effort as everything is geared to match OEM peal!! if you come up with a nice "glamour " clear for completes let me know,
Thanks for the tip on ceramic black!
Keith

would you feel fine just leaving it as epoxy? Now that SPI has the new Ford Red Oxide epoxy, that's what I'd like to do for the underside of my Mustang. The original red oxide coating on it now is almost in mint condition, I'd just like to get some new coats on to make it look consistent.
