Grandpaws rack
Good to see your post and hear you are enjoying your car... that is really important. I had commented on your problems with Gearheads and am glad the rack is working good for you. I had put a newer 605 in my 55 and it worked fine. Soooo, not wanting to leave well enough alone, I did the Cavalier rack. Bit of a battle but now in.
I will be taking it out next week as it doesn't track as well as the Saginaw box, and the loss of turning radius is not acceptable. The rack has a heavy feel compared to the box so that is another reason to dump it. I guess I was doing ok and should have left well enough alone...but ya know I just like to try stuff and see if it can be better. Of course the rack was better than the stock stuff, but I hope someone can find a better rack to use. One with more travel and a shaft angled more toward the steering column. |
