streetbeasts

Is there any connection with that factory 5 racing? I think that's what it's called. Looks like the same cars.

NO! Factory Five produces probably the highest quality component cars on the market. Not only is there no connection, Streetslime cars aren't even in the same league.

Classic

Just wanted to say we went to court in Las Vegas, I think it was between 87-90, would have to dig out the paperwork to make sure, and won a judgement against Classic/George Levin. We were awarded about $40,000 each. A group of us as a class action and never saw a dime. If memory serves me correct, we did receive $2,000 minus fees from the State of Florida, again I think! Thought you all might like to know about the lawsuit we "won" (ha!). I had almost forgot about this nightmare until a friend of mine sent me the link to this bulletin board.

Just confirming what Centerline said -- to my knowledge, there is no significant connection whatsoever between Streetbeasts and Factory Five Racing. Completely different companies, and, from what I've seen, Factory Five enjoys a favorable reputation among hotrodders and kit car enthusiasts.

SparkyJackMax -- we'd be interested in any additional information or documents you could provide.

SparkJackMax -- got your PM and responded. Thanks.

Bob Norman is reporting that, after Rothstein pleaded guilty, a lawyer who is representing victims of the Ponzi scheme said that there will be 20+ related arrests in the coming days and weeks.

Jon, Rothstein's case made USA Today Business section. It confirmed that "more arrests are pending". I guess his pleading "Guilty" eliminates appeals!!??

My educated guess is that Rothstein is singing like a Canary. The guilty plea came way too easily which tells me he's cutting a deal. If the prosecutor has any smarts at all part of the deal was naming his co-conspirators. Lavin's days are numbered for sure.

How old is the Street Beast company.

There is currently a press release on the Street Beasts website congratulating "Sally Russell, Customer Service Manager at StreetBeasts, celebrates 22 years with the company"! She must have been around when the company was still called Classic Motor Carriages. Press release could be contrued as an admission that Street Beast and CMC are the same company under different names.

Rothstein is on the front page of CNN.com today. They're calling him the "Mini Madoff".

Also, the Broward-Palm Beach New Times blog is running some interesting stories on George G. Levin and some airplane purchases. Here and here.

re lawsuit

Only if I knew what a slimeball George Levin is I would have never "tried" to purchase a kit car from these ***holes... I am still waiting to recieve my 66 coupe (I should have recieved it in Oct...) from them and they have never made an attempt to phone me with the status of my car. These people are soooo ridiculously UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Many messages left and no response back... does anyone know if they are going to go bankrupt or any sites I could research this matter further?

How could they go bankrupt when they keep bringing in more money than they ship out?
