Update on the "Ultravan", interesting build.

I posted about this very cool motorhome a while ago. Very cool vintage motorhome in shop today.

The boss' brother and him are rebuilding it and it has been interesting as heck watching this thing go together.

They have replaced a good part of the outer body.

Here is a door they completely re-skinned.

No filler work, no welding, just about a million rivets.

Brian

yes very cool project indeed
but i don't see any future in aftermarket parts.
i would think that every replacement part is a lot of fab work
someone will be a tig expert by this projects end...

i also see endless posibilties for the interior
and a lot of work

Yes, it's a 68. Ogre, there isn't a single weld in the entire body! It is all riveted together pieces handmade from aluminum. Well, there was some stamped pieces but they can easily be made by hand with a shrinker stretcher and a break.

The end caps are fiberglass, so yes they needed good old fiberglass repair. But the rest is aluminum sheets held with rivets.
