upgrading from a 350 tranny to 400

this post is for a freind that is upgrading his 350 tranny on his cutty to a 400 turbo. His issue is that he installed and it only goes in rear. Now he did not plug the electric plug since his 85 dont have any. He also did not connect the suction hose his cutty has cuz his new tranny dont have any. So my guess is that he needs to plun in the electrci plug my question is how would he do that.??

The TH400 uses an electrical solenoid for the kick down, or "passing gear". A switch can be attached up at the carb to trigger the kick down, or a different gas pedal can be used that has a switch for the kick down- both were used by the factory.

If by "suction hose" you mean the vacuum line to the modulator, BOTH trannys use a vacuum modulator- if the one he removed was really a TH350. But it didn't come w/a TH350, might have been a TH2004R, so that's probably why there's no vacuum hose. Hook the modulator to a full time vacuum source on the carb or intake. Do not use ported vacuum. If it was a 4 speed auto w/OD, the shifter will need work to work w/the TH400.

I'm going to leave now. I think reading that post gave me worms.
