1980 Ford F100 Pickup

Has anyone put upholstery materials over the stock plastic door panels?

Can this be done or do you just have to start from scratch and make new panels?

Anything can be done if you want it bad enough. You can put fabric over the plastic panels with no problem, but if you want a different desighn the use of alot of foam could make the doors look obese. Anything can be done within about an inch-1.5" and still look good. Just use adhesive like you would on any other panel and fold around behind and use adhesive there as well.making one from scratch would give you a bit more of a chance to customize to your tastes with desighns and shapes and custom armrests etc.
