Upholstery Staples

I have an air powerd combination Brad/Staple gun. The smallest/finest staples I can find are 18 gauge with a half inch leg on the staples. I forgot to mention the staples are 1/4 inch narrow crown. I would like to use a "lighter" staple on this job, but I can't seem to find any. I'm new at this upholstery thing so maybe I just don't know where to look. Or, maybe I need to consider a different type of staple gun. My current project is trying to staple vynil material to a Luan type door panel. Most of the staples I can find are too long for this job. I like the air powerd gun over an electric stapler. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Go to Harbor Freight. For around $30 with extended warranty they have a pneumatic gun that accepts T50 staples. T50 are the most common. Just keep it oiled and the air pressure around 75psi.

T50 staples are way too coarse. You need to invest in a better staple gun like the BeA, Duo-Fast, Senco, or Fasco guns. I have always found that any product that claims to do a couple different things is ordinary at both of them. I can get 5/16" crown staples in lengths down to 3/16", and up to 9/16" for my BeA guns. Duofast has a narrow crown gun, model #ANC 3418, that shoots staples with only a 3/16" crown, but there are only 3 different size staples for that gun.
