upper control arm axle bushings, remove/install

hello
can i use a hammer to bang out the bushings on the axle?
can i use it plus a block of wood so i dont destroy the bushing to install them as well?

Here's how I got mine out.

Different vehicle, same principle.

To install, I put them in a cold
freezer awhile then lubed with
anti sieze (that way they'll not
corrode in place and come
out easier next time) and they
tapped right in with a small hammer.
