US President to support Terrorism in his fight against Terrorism, Irony at itís best.

So, I was under the understanding that the passing of US founds to a known and listed terrorist organization was illegal. Well then whatís up with Hamas, wouldnít this be Treason for a government official to found a self declared enemy of the US.

Well Iím thinking some attorney somewhere in the US ot to look into this.

Rick.

Time
"But the statement made no immediate threat to cut existing funding despite the fact that the Palestinian electorate has voted into power a party listed by the U.S. and EU as a terrorist organization.

The U.S. currently provides an estimated $234 million annually to the PA budget"

Good reason to not rely on one source for your information.

Obviously not listening closely to the news channels. If you want to bash the President then get your facts straight first. Bush has been saying CLEARLY that we will NOT fund Hamas.

After my last political interlude on this board I haven't been much into the news so the following may not be correct.

But weren't the Hamas voted into power in free elections?

Yes, he was indeed elected in free elections. Iran has the most western world like culture, but ironically also has the greatest hatred of it.

We have to be careful in this situation. We know that Hamas has conspired to bring down Israel before. Now I don't really care for Israel (and I've read Leon Uris's Exodus), but we have to oppose any leader that has openly admitted that he would like to wipe a country off the map. Last time a people was threatened like this in history, it was Adolf Hitler and WWII.

Hamas is responsible for a large number of suicide bombings that continue to plague the Palistinian region. Here's a quick list: http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Terrorism-...2-Mar-2004.htm

Quote:
Among the more infamous Hamas suicide bombings and terrorist attacks were (the following is a representative, not exhaustive, list):

# The 1 June 2001 suicide bombing of a Tel Aviv discotheque, in which 21 people were murdered and 120 were wounded;
# The 9 August 2001 suicide bombing of a Jerusalem restaurant, in which 15 people were murdered and 130 were wounded;
# The 1 December 2001 double suicide bombing on the Ben Yehuda Street pedestrian mall in Jerusalem, in which 11 people were murdered and 188 were wounded;
# The 2 December 2001 suicide bombing of a #16 bus in Haifa, in which 15 people were murdered and 40 were wounded;
# The 9 March 2002 suicide bombing of a Jerusalem cafe, in which 11 people were murdered and 54 were wounded;
# The 27 March 2002 suicide bombing of a Netanya hotel on the first night of Passover, in which 30 people were murdered and 140 were wounded;
# The 18 June 2002 suicide bombing of a #32A bus in Jerusalem, in which 19 people were murdered and 74 were wounded;
# The 4 August 2002 suicide bombing of #361 bus at Meron junction, in which nine people were murdered and 50 were wounded;
# The 21 November 2002 suicide bombing of a #20 bus in Jerusalem, in which 11 people were murdered and 50 were wounded;
# The 5 March 2003 suicide bombing of a #37 bus in Haifa, in which 17 people were murdered and 53 were wounded;
# The 17 May 2003 suicide bombing in Hebron, in which two people were murdered;
# The 18 May 2003 suicide bombing of a #6 bus in Jerusalem, in which seven people were murdered and 20 wounded;
# The 11 June 2003 suicide bombing of #14A bus in Jerusalem, in which 11 people were murdered and over 100 were wounded;
# The 19 August 2003 suicide bombing of a #2 bus in Jerusalem, in which 23 people were murdered and over 130 were wounded;
# The 9 September 2003 suicide bombing of a hitchhiking post near the IDF base at Tzrifin, in which nine soldiers were murdered and 10 were wounded;
# The 9 September 2003 suicide bombing of a Jerusalem cafe, in which seven people were murdered and 70 were wounded;
# The 29 January 2004 suicide bombing of a #19 bus in Jerusalem, in which 11 people were murdered and 44 were wounded;
# The 14 March 2004 double suicide bombing at Ashdod port, in which 10 people were murdered and 16 were wounded.
# On Aug 31, 2004 16 people were killed and 100 wounded in two suicide bombings within minutes of each other on two Beersheba city buses, on route nos. 6 and 12.
A full list is found HERE

And as if that wasn't enough, he is also pushing for the suicide bombings to continue in Iraq against us

I say if he threatens to throw nukes around we take the county over.

Also, the funding to the Palestinian Authority was in the Oslo Accord initiated by a liberal congress under President Clinton . However, in 2003 Bush did authorize $20 million in cash to be given to the Palestinian Authority, where it was just HUNDREDS of millions of worker aid before.

I wish people would put petty political differences aside and stop blaming Bush for everything that happened before he was even in office.

Edit: fixed broken link & grammatical error

I think you guys may have misunderstood me I wasnít trying to bash the bush, I was merely laughing my *** off over the irony of it all. Whether youíre a republicker or democrackhead really makes no difference to me.

furthermore talk is cheap and only time will tell, but Iíll be willing to bet ALL founding will NOT be cut for one pathetic reason or another, and weíll be spending hard earned US $ to help kill the Israelis real soon.

Just imagine how many suicide bombers they could now buy with 900 million in foreign aid.

Rick.

Is it not the case that USA wiped Afganistan and Iraq off the map and is now lining up Iran. The wrong party seems to be in charge in Venezuela too.

Are elections only considered free and democratic if they elect someone you like.

Theirs good reasons why felons are not allowed to vote in this country.

Why then do we think leting murderous warmongers vote their government into power would somehow change things for the better in a country where a KING WITH AN IRON FIST IS NEEDED just to keep um from daily killing each other..

I mean really how long do you think a legislator would last in San Quentin? Why do you thing Abbas canít disarm the militants?

A couple of things jump out at me here:

1) "The U.S. currently provides an estimated $234 million annually to the PA budget"

Again, another contribution by the U.S. to a people who don't appreciate it and probably don't deserve it. My dad spoke with a Palestinian teacher who was part of a teacher exchange. The conversation took place in the earlyn 1950's. She stated that the Palestinians were dedicated to the destruction of Israel and that the Palestinian children were taught that starting at a very early age. We have seen decades of this mindset manifesting itself in the Middle East and I don't see it abating soon.

2) "Now I don't really care for Israel (and I've read Leon Uris's Exodus),.....

I don't really know what that is supposed to mean. Could you elaborate, 78?

I may surprise you to note that Australia, England and Wales, and Scotland (among others)all have higher rates of crime than the U.S.

http://www.economist.com/displayStor...tory_ID=513031

From the above article:

"And apart from Australia, people who live in England and Wales are at greater risk of being assaulted, robbed, sexually attacked and having their homes burgled than are people in any other rich country."

Maybe it's 'cause criminal there have no fear of a populace that has been disarmed by their government.

I'm not minimizing the impact of gun crimes or accidents (which are caused by criminal neglect), just putting things in perspective. It seems one is safer in a "gun crazy USA" than in merry old Enland (or even Scotland).

and that relates back to what Wizzonal said:

which relates back to what

In effect is what we have done is arbitraily go into a reigion, over throw the rulling leader that actually had control, Force democratic elections then cry about who's in charge.

Pardon the language, but this is one big clusterf*ked situation woth no real answers.
We shouldn't have setup shadow governments in the '40's over there.
But really this falls back on Hitler and their secrect ops which allowed them to infiltrate the US government itself and eneded up killing Kennedy and launching our space program into high gear.
If you think these are conspiracy theories they aren't. Research our space program and see who the main players were, what country they came from and how they influenced America. A name you may know is Von Braun

There were many more Nazi scientists that came here, many were skilled in the arts of proaganda and black warfare. all they had to do was plant seeds, just as they did in the Arabic countries.

Oh yes, it is for sure that Nazis and their henchmen are ultimatley responsible for the assassination of Kennedy and the success of the space program. Yup. And they also had bases on the moon, along with the Japs. Uh HUH!

Apparently some people will believe ANYTHING as long as somehow reinforces the paranoia in there minds.

This thread:

at an astronomy forum discusses the inanity of such claims. The posters pretty much show how stupid such claims are.
