Used cam?

Hey guys,

I'm considering buying a used roller cam and lifters for my chevy. Part of me says: man, I don't think buying used engine parts is a good idea, but logic says that roller cams don't wear at all. This guy says he only used it for a little while. What are your opinions on the subject?

Ask him if you can put a micrometer on the lobes, check for straightness, finish etc. If that all checks out and the price is OK, go for it.

used engine parts?

I buy used parts all the time. Cam's and roller rockers and pistons and rods and cranks. I buy new lifters and valve springs for heads and oil pumps and timing chains. Saves abuck or two.
