I'm curious about the inserts. Did you sew the diamonds yourself, or buy the vinyl pre-made like that?

i sewed the diamonds dan , 1/2" sewfoam underside of it. there 3" x 2" diamonds. ade

I have a question and it pertains to the great job your doing..
HOW in the heck do you:
A- get the lines so straight... They really look it.
B- did you do the layout ( of course you did, but how...) as the diamonds that are partial are even.. I mean YOU REALLY did well with that. I couldn't even see anything out of square, not wavering all straight, and even..
How much practice did you do in advance.

That's why I asked. I figured you probably had to sew them yourself because of the color. The diamonds are about as perfect as is humanly possible. Stumpy, you have a real knack for this work, especially for someone just starting out....... keep it up!

PS How long did it take you to sew all those diamonds?

Thank you Dan , that means so much coming from somebody with your experience. The diamonds from start to finish took about 30 minutes . Kept them simple to the sizes.

Where you stitching real slow when you did the diamonds?

I tacked the foam to the vinyl with spray adhesive, then marked ourt the diamonds , then starting at the middle line worked my way outward , working at a medium speed , I'm strange I find going slow tends to drift off line , once the first set of lines are done I started the other set which then creates the diamonds, I found it necessary to press down on the diamonds either side if the presser foot when going across the first set of lines .
I have cut a small groove in the front facing edge on the foot and white lined it, that allows me to see where the footsteps going, thanks again to Dan two lakes for this tip. Ade

Are the panels on the side 1/2 inch sewfoam as well?
