Used seats for 1946 Ford Coupe

I need to replace the front seat on a 1946 Ford coupe with something newer that folds forward to allow access to the rear seat, and has a reclining back. I am going to search the salvage yards for these, but would like some feedback from the forum as to what might fit. The width between the pillars is 55 inches, so I am would need something that is 52 or 53 inches wide, maximum. If anyone can suggest any models that might be used, I would appreciate it. I am completely re-upholstering the interior, so I am just going to use the frame of the seat.

Thanks a million!

Years back,I built a '47 Ford cp. and used the front and rear seats from a 75-76 Olds 98,they were 6way power, and folded to give good access to the back seat, the rear fit perfect, and the front was one of those pillow cushion ,they were really comfy...

Thanks Actionjk. That is helpful information. I now know a year that will fit. If I can locate those seats and they are cheap, I will go that route. I appreciate your knowledge.

I hope you find those 98 seats in exactly the right color and fabric you want. Those pillow-type seats are some of the hardest there are to upholster.

Some convertibles come with the shoulder belts installed in the seat back. Pretty neat idea.

Thanks Techinspector1

That would be look cool with the seat belts. If it is going to cost a lot of money to upholster them, though, I am going to need to re-think.

Thanks for the info.
