Pfaff 487-6-41 variable top feed sewing machine, Is this machine a good one to start doing upholstery on? My singer 201 just can't handle the jobs I need it to,

That machine is the type of industrial machine that is used to sew heavier clothes like jeans. It has a walking foot, but what you really need is a compound feed walking foot.

I would stick with the Singer 111W and it's clones. THis would be the Pfaff 1245, Consew 226, etc.
