Often the same guy who tells you he can't afford a 1500 custom built subframe will easily spring for a set of billet wheels and matching tires that cost twice that and never flinch at that price.
Or the simple FACT that buying the wrong frame, rebuilding it and having to buy new parts on the car like the radiator because it hits the frame or some goofy stuff like that you end up saving NOTHING. It would have been cheaper to build the thing right.

I had a young "whipper snapper" call me recently about doing a 65 Nova,, cutting the floorboards out etc,,, and putting it on some cobbled up frame, kinda like this guy,,, I went and looked at the car, ( it was a pile of rust looking for a place to crumble)
I listened to all his ideas, custon art Morrison chassis,$$$$$ blown 572 BBC etc,$$$$$,,so right away figured out he was a dreamer,, ( he detailed cars for 8$ a hr)
I tryed to let him down easy,, to not discourage him from giving up,, but he wasn't about to come down off his cloud 9 anytime soon,
anything is possable,," except the impossable"
we were ALL dreamers at one time I'm sure, I know I certainly was,,
I'd be ashamed to show you guys some of the messes I made as a youngster,, stilll making them too,,,

BRIAN Are you going to the CHRR this Yr?? I'll be there,,, sure would like to meet you

No, unfortunatly I am not going, I would LOVE to though! Hey, you driving of flying? You could stop by and say hello on the way!

The thing with the guys who are dying to make these horrid mistakes it is up to us to tell them why they shouldn't, it isn't to say "Go for it so you learn", that is just wrong if you ask me. To let the guy cut his arm off while cutting a tree down wrong, just to learn a lesson! No, we need to tell him how to use the saw, or to simply put the damn thing down and hire a professional to do the job so he doesn't get hurt.
