The biggest problem is getting a good correct pattern on them after install in the next housing. If they were correct the first time and have little wear then they will usually set up again, but if they have an unusual wear pattern or are worn, they will be a pain to set up and usually noisy.

the wear pattern on them looked ok, they were a factory installed part

no big problems other than being noisy though? my car is going to make a fair bit of noise so i'm not too conserned about that

I prefer a good used factory FOMOCO 9" gear set to a new aftermarket set.

I can get them to run quieter.

Most aftermarket ring and pinions have a good bit of runout and the influe is not as good as FOMOCO stuff.

Even Ford Motorsport IS NOT factory Ford anymore......they are sourced from the aftermarket.
