v-6 FIVE SPEED

I have a 5 speed trans out of a 85 fire bird v-6 it will bolt to my camaro 4 speed bellhousing,but it is only a 14 spline shaft, will this trans handle a v-8

IMO those trannys are very week. If you drive the car normal and not bang on the gears hard you will be OK. Though if your hard on the gearbox that tranny will only last a couple months at most. The best upgrade is to put a hurst shifter on it. Best of luck

if the v8 is stock, and you're nice to it, it should hold up. if you've got a modified engine whith a little power, that t5 will frag. if you're going to change it out, and you've got a few bucks stashed away, go for an aftermarket trans like a richmond or tremec.
