v-belt to serpentine

Looking to swap from v-belts to serpentine set up in my 85 c10 350. got a whole accessory set up off of a 91 c1500 with a 350. I know so far that i need to get a water pump for a 91 but i've also heard that you need to relocate the alternator? is this true? if so where can i find a relocation bracket?

If you took everything from the 91, you should have two castings, one of each bolt to each head. The alternator will be located on the drivers side bracket along with the power steering pump below it. The passenger side bracket will carry the AC compressor or if not so equipped there will be an idler pulley in that location. If you have to relocate the alternator from the passenger to driver's side, the parts houses speed shops carry a wire extension kit for the relocation, this is way simpler and cheaper than trying to relocated the alternator to the passenger side. Also keep in mind that the serpentine power steering pump mounts differently than the V-belt and probably won't fit the serpentine factory bracket.

You need the water pump for the reverse rotation of the serpentine compared to the V-belt and if this uses a pump driven fan, you also need the serpentine fan.

You'll probably have to get the later model pump and reservoir from the serpentine belt donor vehicle. been a while since I done one of these swaps, but if memory serves, the older pumps won't bolt to the cast bracket.

Too many plug wires for a 4.3 V-6 . Is it a 4.8 V-8 ?

You will have too, the Serpentine Pump bolts to the belt bracket.

Should work just fine, I would snatch the hose off the 1991 as well, one of them threads into the pump, the other hose just clips over a nipple and hold it down with a clamp.

Yes, with the OEM Serpentine system. It is the same old, same old casting with a different impeller to pump coolant the "normal" way into the engine while being turned counter-clockwise which is backwards to the original V belt pump.

Yes, only thing that might be different is it probably doesn't have a water port drilled and tapped init, but probably has the boss.
