BTW Nippon Denso IR/IF alternators have a selection of aftermarket pulleys available on the aftermarket made by a number of aftermarket suppliers for racing use, they can be had in 3/8 or 1/2" vee belt sizing in different diameters. These alternators can also be run in 16 volt configurations and are quite durable for HP use.

Here is some pics of the different styles available;

Nippon Denso Automotive and Industrial Alternators

Here is another contender that you might consider, it looks nice and small and easy to mount.

Maxx HP High Amp Alternators

Hehe, told you guys he was evil.

Great project. I like the alternator driven off the driveshaft idea if there's a room somewhere underneath for it. It'd be cool to see JUST the engine, sort of like there's not enough there for it to actually run...

awsome build brainsboy. I have a small bodied 1980 mustang with a 460 in it, stock shock towers. Ive got a standard typical low price GM alternater on an under hung bracket. It mounts bottom side of the block tucked away. It looks like you have room for that, Ive never doubted what can be done when building a car. I envy your ability and the choice in car and motor combo, thats going to another rodding spectrum there.
