v6 700r4 transmission

I've been looking around and found a little bit of information but not really enough to suit my needs. so i'll throw it out to you guys, thanks in advance for any help.

I just picked up an international scout 80 and i want to upgrade the drive train...and everything else for that matter. I've run across a 700R4 transmission and transfer case from a 1991 s15 jimmy. I don't know the exact engine that was in the vehicle, but i can find out if need be.

my questions are, will this bolt up to a small block Chevy and if so will it be able to handle around 350 horse power and 38 inch tall tires with low gears. i know that may be a tall order for a v6 transmission and t-case, but I'm hoping maybe they are the same as the v8

and, are there any electronics that control the transmission. I'm not very comfortable with electronics, and the vehicle the transmission is out of is gone.

The 2.8 liter V6 motors use a different bellhousing bolt pattern than the 4.3 liter motors and the SBC. It depends on which V6 this trans was bolted to. The 700R4 does not use electronics except for the converter lockup (you can get an aftermarket kit to do that). The 4L60E is the computer controlled version of the 700R4. Be sure you know which version you're getting.

it looks like the only engine available in a s15 jimmy was the 4.3, so i guess i just have to determine if its electronically controlled and whether or not it will handle what i want to throw at it.
