v6 Engine Swap
I have a 1981 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that comes with a 229 V6 engine, but the electronic module (ECM) controlled carburetor is running fair (Low Power and about only 12mpg). Here in my country I can't find a new carb for a reasonable price, but one person is offering me a S-10 4.3 V6 TBI engine.
Can I put that engine to my car? Is it difficult to mount it? Will i need new engine mounts? and can it be connected to the same Transmision? If I can't put the entire engine.. can I modify the 229, and put in it the Trottle Body and all the TBI system from de 4.3? |

Is the 229 a 90 degree V6?

yes.. the 229 is a 3,8 litre 90 degree V-6 engine with a 2 barrel E.C. carb

Well then the motor mounts won't give you any troubles. Could probably even stick with the stock manifolds or whatnot that you already have. The 4.3 will bolt to the transmission that your 3.8 is attached to as well.
