V6 Vortec Head interchange

I have a 92 Chevy 4.3 Z code, TBI that needs a valve job. Will the newer Vortec V6 heads interchange?
If so, I assume I would need a newer intake also. Were the later truck Vortec's TBI also?
Is there anything to gain by going to the newer heads if it is even possible?

“Real” Vortec heads (kidney-bean chamber and vertical intake manifold bolt pattern) began in 1996, and used SFI. They will bolt up to your engine.

Edelbrock makes a 4 bbl. dual plane intake for them, p/n 2114.

When you get into Vortec 4.3 heads. You get into a big bag of worms. There are at least four different head sets. All will bolt to the block. But, getting intakes/rocker arms to bolt to them is another matter. There are different bolt patterns and port configurations. Even different temp and knock sensor locations.
