Not strong enough in any way! VW front half of the light bad car and the front end is designed to make weight. Tire pressure was like 17 pounds on the front end of a "standard" tire mountain through! Even with the beefier springs, the rest fails.

I am not sure what you are talking about , but this car was built over a period of three years and incorporates a shortened S-10 pickup frame with the bug body channeled onto it . If you look back through some of the old posts you will see that it is plenty strong to hold the drivetrain that is in it . A lot of time and engineering has gone into this build . Allan .

Concrete blocks, the preferred choice of crushed mechanics everywhere. LOL

LOL, thanks Allan and Craig. This is true. The body was pretty light, so it didn't worry me too much. I was able to get it up on those blocks single handed, literally, by lifting one end of the body with one hand and placing the blocks with the other. Disclaimer: I wouldn't recommend do this though. I'm a professional stuntman.

I used a S10 pickup frame and ditched my plans to build a tube chassis using the original suspension components, cause, well, it was quick, cost effective, and S10 are notorious for V8 conversions, so their aftermarket support is great. Luckily, the S10 frame fit under the bug body with a little trimming here, some shortening of the frame there, and widening of the rear fenders.

I haven't got a whole lot done lately cause of life. I did manage to get the wipers on, starting masking the floor for coating, and my bro bought me some carpet for Christmas, which will go in soon.
