Well, I'm going to try and make the transition from extension to fender as smooth as possible by using a dolly and hammer to shape the joint. I really have no clue how much bondo I'll use cause I've never done this before, but I'm going to try and use as little as possible.

I know what you mean. The fenders were kinda tough doing solo.

It probably does! As I started doing some of the final welding to the fenders I noticed the right outside seem started to take a "natural" looking shape as the metal absorbed some heat from welding.

Thanks! It's getting there. I think I'm not doing to bad first my first attempt at anything close to this much fabrication work. More to come...

I found a replica of a '40 ford hood that says it fits a beetle. I'm not sure if it fits a super beetle but if you're interested here's the link.

http://www.miltonsandtoys.com/Bulletin%20Board.htm

There is also a pair of suicide doors for a '73 superbeetle if you are interested. They are both listed on the same page.

I don't know how to insert a picture yet or else I would put one in.

I also just found a picture of a bug with the same hood on it. There are also other major modifications but I'm just looking at the front end. Here's that link

Thanks for the link, but I'm thinking of going this direction with the car.

I'm thinking of buying a drift front bump made for a 95 sentra, because the top of the body kit it similar to a bug bumper, and modifying it to fit on my bug. Then I'll cut away the metal on the bug below the bumper point and mount the radiator right where the wide opening is on the drift bumper. Well, it's an idea at the moment. I like the look of that modern looking bug.

To insert a picture simply right click your mouse, select copy image address, hit reply to whatever thread, click the button at the top of the message box that looks like a picture with mountains and a suns, and then just paste the picture link into the box that pops up.

The blue car is beautiful. In my opinion that's as good as it gets.

I'd have to agree. It's probably the nicest looking bug I've seen, to my liking. This car belongs to JSports in Japan. They make some nice aftermarket parts such as the front spoiler / air dam, carbon fiber running boards, widened fenders, and performance parts for air cooled engines. It's too bad they're in Japan and don't distribute to the US. You can get parts from them but freight on something like that front spoiler from Japan would be very expensive.

At this point I'm tossing around ideas. The idea of having the bug look stock is one, the other making it look something along the lines of the blue bug.
