v8 s10
Found a small block 350. Its out of a 89 chevy truck and the guy wants 100 bucks for it. It is fuel injected. How hard will it be to change it from efi to carb? What will i have to change? Thanks.

any basic small block 12 bolt intake will fit, however, the 87 and up heads 4 center intake bolts are at a different angle, so the intake must be drilled for the new angle if it`s a 86 and earlier intake, a machine shop can handle this job with ease, everything else is a basic bolt on.

Vortec heads aren`t aftermarket, there factory GM heads, the Vortecs require a vortec intake which has a straight up right 8 bolt pattern, I do not recommed having a older intake drilled for use on vortec heads. as for the older heads, they`ll bolt right on the 1989 block.

edelbrock makes a bolt on intake to fit the tbi heads as well as the vortec heads.

And you need to check the Fuel pump mounting most of the fuel-injection blocks are not drilled, you will need a electric pump.

If youre on a tight budget GM makes a carebureted intake for TBI heads too. Cruise around the bone yard you might find one.
