I have looked high and low for an "accurate" diagram for an 84 monte carlo SS with the 305. The diagram simply does not exist!

There are the diagrams from michell, chilton, and haynes, but they all lack several important lines! The dont mention where the dash vacuum hooks up, they dont mention where to hook up the vacuum advance, they dont list where, or which of the lines coming out of the left side of the engine compartment to use for the vacuum sensor. The diagrams SUCK!

Best bet is too find a working original caprice, monte, or truck and take some pictures before it is lost to father time. I know I'm going to have to find an original setup and take some shots, hell maybe sending a "correct" diagram to chevy, chiltons and all the rest with a nasty little letter would help?

Oh yeah and there are I think 2 or 3 vacuum ports on the q-jet that the diagrams say arent even there! Talk about being lazy on GMs part.

I would check in a Motors Manual. They have detailed and specific diagrams for the vacuum and emissions controls. You may fine one at you local library. Also, you can check at a local garage; many will let you look at their manuals.
