Vacuum canister

Hey folks john law says I have to have the charcoal vacuum canister hooked up to pass inspection. It is located in the front passenger corner of the motor comparment. It has 3 places for hoses to go but I have no Idea where they go do any of you?

Usually the charcoal canister is to absorb gasoline fumes coming from the tank and carb. You should have a line from the tank and one from the carb airhorn.

You are most likely going to have to find the correct year shop manual or parts blowup for the installation detail. You will have one purge line from the carb to the cannister, a vacuum supply and a return vent hose to the air cleaner asm plus the return line (usually steel on a FORD) to the tank.

You also will have a purge solenoid and a one way vacuum valve in the purge line. He's probably is going to want the complete vent system restored.

Maybe you could get lucky and find a setup in the junk yard.
