Valspar single stage

I am new to painting but in the past few months I have sucessfully sprayed 2 cars in bc/cc. Yesterday I painted a truck in single stage. It was valspar 327. I mixed it as instructed and it was like glue. I put in my hvlp gun with a 1.4 tip and it just sputtered out. Then I put it in my siphone feed gun with a 1.6 tip (might be 1.8) that i use for primer and I still had to way over reduce the paint. Is there something worng withj this paint? Is all single stage like this?

It said 8:1 with activator and then may be reduced 10-15 percent. I double checked that on valspars website too.

I've had the same issue, and called Valspar and they thought it was odd, but perhaps the heat that I'm spraying at - around 80 degrees.

How much reducer are you using? I'm using 50%.

It was a while ago now so I'm not really sure. I know I mixed activator it said to and then I think it said reduce up to 10% but I think I had to reduce like 50%. maybe it was a bad batch. I have used valspar single stage since and havent had the same problem.
