The price will strictly depend on condition and the deal you can make..if it is a real creampuff kinda thing it can bring some good money..if it is in bad need of a lot of rust repair then it may not be worth much more than salvage for parts..
Do some checking around in your area to see what similar cars in like condition are going for..

really it's worth depends on what it's worth to you, and what your willing to pay for it, and what kinda time your willing to put in it, if you can't do the body work than add that in also. sometimes a good deal is measured by if your happy when your done with the deal.

Make sure that you really check out the rear body mounts....known to rust out in those years. If the body needs "mega" work, they probably do too.

You won't get a good idea from KBB or NADA. I looked up my GTO just for kicks a couple years ago and they say one in perfect condition isn't worth more than like $8k... maybe $10k for a judge. Where as if you look at people that look at what they go for at auctions, perfect condition judges can go for upward of $60k. I recommend looking at places like Hemmings or eBay motors or the like for an ad for a car that looks about the same condition and get an idea. With more information and pictures, I (or someone else here) could give you a pretty good idea what it is worth.

The NADA is closer than it used to be. My Z28 shows up at $68,500 which is too little but its higher than I would have guessed from NADA.

kelly used to be way higher for cars. now i've noticed nada is. dont know why. i would say you are getting about an average deal with todays prices of gto junkers out there. nice ones are $20K and up. but by the time you replace floors, trunks, quarters, etc etc, you will be into it that much unless you do it yourself. as usual, the guys who can do their own paint and body work are the ones who will make out on these wrecks. i would advice you to keep saving your money and get something with a good shell from a rust free climate.
Depending on how bad the rust is, I would say go for it. Goats are going up in price recently and 3500 isn't bad.... Even hack-job restos on these cars is bringing 12-17k... And if everything is there, you can always part it out on ebay for profit... just my 2 cents.....
