Valve angles
between a cylinder head with say 9 degree valves and one with angles nearing 20 degrees what is the major advantage? shrouding only?

A straighter path to fill the cylinder- more effective use of the valve.

One drawback is longer valves, taller, heads and intake, space requirements.

With more angle do you ever.loose piston to valve clearance
