i have tried a search without much success, i notice that valve locks [or keepers] come in 7 and 10 degrees , what i want to know is ,are the retainers the same for both 7 and 10 degrees? second question why are some guide plates flat and some raised? thanks in advance.

Keeper and retainer angles must match. I don't know about the guide plates.

Raised plate have better support with heavy valve spings.
