I've got an 80,000 mile '85 small block 350 that smokes a lot of blue at startup for a minute or 2 before the smoke goes away. She still kinda stinks at the tailpipe even after the smoke clears. I let it sit for a while and pulled the plugs. 3 of them had a fresh coating of oil on them and were pretty fouled. This motor has sat around *a lot* in the past few years. Do you think valve seals might help. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
Yes, the old ones are probably in the bottom of the pan too. I would pull the pan and clean it out and maybe even do the main seals while your down there just to freshen it up, seals have a way of rotting if unused and left sitting.
Very common scenario with vehicles left sitting for years and years.
