Question valves

i have 1969 chevy 350 with double hump heads just put a nnew cam and lifter and roller rockers i all so replaced the screw in studs . now i cant adjust valves on 2 valves the rockers bottom out on the studs and are still very loose all the rest are ok . any ideas whats wrong ???? also i did check the push rod length and replaced them

I once had a motor do this. Turned out it was a couple of flat lobes. I know that is not what you want to here.

1)Check the threads on the new studs. They may not be threaded all the way down. Or change the studs BACK to the used ones.

2) the slot in the rocker arms may not be slotted enough if the new cam is a good bit larger than the previous one.

I have both of these things happen to me before.

There's no set height on the guide bosses so whats probably happening is you simply run out or adjustment on those respecting valves. Its possible to have the bosses machined to lower thier hieght. If you don't wanna pull the heads than you can get even longer pushrods for those valves. As kinda a rigging setup. I've seen tools you can use to machine down those bosses on the car but don't recommend them myself because of the metal shavings they produce.
