valvetrain oiling issues

hey everyone. i went to adjust my valves the other day and realized the the passenger side bank wasnt getting anywhere near as much oil as the driver side. when i pulled the valve cover off the driver side and started the car the oil was shooting outside the engine bay, where as on the passenger side it was squirting on the rocker fulcrum. also cyl #2 exhaust wasnt getting any oil. i took the pushrod out and cleaned it out and sprayed it with compress air and then tried putting a different rocker arms also. is any of this normal? Thanks

If this is an SBC the chances are the distributor isn't seated properly. It forms part of the pass side lifter galley if it's not setting right it can either plug it or open a leak back to the pan.

Yes it is a sbc my apologies. I will check later to make sure that its down in all the way. THanks for the suggestion and the great response time.

if not the distrib or a gallery plug missing in the block then check pushrods and lifters for any dirt or obstruction in them,.

or in the rocker tip at the pushrod socket
