Van Dorn-- Black and Decker Pilots

I collect old machine tools, and I bought a very cherry old Black and Decker valve grinder that came with what I will guess to be 1940s Van Dorn portable seat grinder. Everthing is complete with the exception of the 11/32s pilot. The pilot itself is there, but it has a small, three fingered expansion device at the end of it, and it's broken. Anyone out there got any of these or access to them. I would like to make it complete if I could. I was thinking maybe the old Black and Decker stuff was pretty similar.

Pick yourself up a Goodson, Regis, or Silverseal catalog.
It might be easier to buy a new pilot rather than trying to find that piece.
What is pilot diameter that fits inside the stoneholder? Youll need to know that too.

Top of pilot diameters are:

Black & Decker, K.O. Lee, Winona, Snapon = .375

Sioux = .385

Kwik-Way = .437

Thanks for the links, I've already looked in Goodson's catalogue, and I didn't see anything quite like these, but I'll check the other two links you provided and see if I can dig anything up.

Black and Decker bought out VanDorn many years ago, the drivers,stone holders and pilots are the same, The two names used to be popular valve machines but the lack of support and service parts from Black and Decker has put them on the obsolete list. Goodson. Silver Seal (Trenton Mich), Atlas all have parts and pilots for your machine.

re: Valve Seat Drinder Pilots

I have quite a few Black & Decker Valve grinder pilots available on my web site at www.*********.com for sale. There is also a link there to my ebay store where I also have hundreds of pilots listed for Sioux, Kwik Way, Black & Decker, Van Dorn, and Thor Seat Grinder Sets. Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Dennis
