Vega Steering Box

The Borgeson catalog recommends the Vega steering box for cars under 2500 pounds. I think my '40 Sedan weighs close to 3,000. Will that steering box still work good. I want to change out the old and tired Vega box that the previous owner installed.

It should be fine. I am using an even lighter weight aluminum Corvair gear on my 3000# Willys. Willys gassers MUST use a Corvair gear! I took it all apart after about 10 year of service to see how it was doing and it looks brand new!

Not sure if all the GM boxes mount the same or not,My Malibu is a tank and I have a manual box off of an 80's era S-10.
