What upsets you about vendors? I want to know if I am the only one bothered by bad business practices. I just waited a week to find out I have been billed a week ago for a shipment and it would have shipped today. It won't ship today because I cancelled it. I am tired of businesses billing before shipping or even billing before they have the part in stock to actually ship!!
Had to get this off my chest! |

A lot of vendors desperate to make that extra buck, will tend to sell items they don't even have, but don't want to send the business down the road. I deal a lot with the mining industry and have seen it many times. Vendors don't stock the parts because it raises the cost of inventory, and only acquire that inventory once it is sold. If you need the parts in a hurry, normally you would have to pay the extra freight charges to get it in a timely manner. I hate when an item is "direct shipped from manufacturer", order usually gets messed up somehow, late or wrong parts. God forbid, you get the parts and want to return them. Some vendors charge 15 - 25% or higher restocking fees ,because they don't want that inventory sitting on their books.
Submitting complaints, may work if the company gets bombarded with complaints. Most vendors accept the fact that they will receive a small amount of complaints and usually shuffle it off if it's not going to hurt their business majorly. Sometimes they will give the pissed off customer a few give away items, or token discounts to keep the damage to a minimum. They'll make it up on the next order. Who get's the raw end of this deal, the customer!! |

Very simular experience recently when i was in L Vegas with some buddy's, one of them asked " can you drive me to this Harley place to pick up some parts" well i said no problem but had never heard of this supplier which he found on the internet.
So we set off to find this store from which he had ordered his parts & arranged to collect, when we got there guess what we found! half a dozen young guys sat at desk's each surrounded by catalogs taking phone & internet orders.....but no stock!!!! & man they were busy, a small counter with a very little stock. They also covered all the Jap & motocross stuff too not just Harley's.
