Post VETTE BUILDER sandblasting question

VETTE BUILDER couldn't reply directly to you so here's a reply to your question on cleaning a frame after sandblasting. Never try to clean a sandblasted part with water!!! Not unless you want rust there right now. first I allways ask blaster to blow sand out and off frame when done, he can save you lots of time blowing all the sand out.Next finsh blowing sand out yourself, all different directions, inside and out.As many times as it takes. Some people sand metal with 80 grit to level surface out so paint doesn't have sinking in problems later. It's questionable if you need to do this to a frame, it's up to you.blow again Then with enamal reducer and two sets of rags, one wet one dry clean metal.A little at a time. You dry it,dont let it dry itself! If this leaves too much lint[from rags] on surface I hit it litely with a scratch pad, blow off and tach cloth it again. Use a good primer like variprime, sand and blow and tach again and it's ready for sealer. If you did miss a little sand it's easy to sand out of primer. Also sometimes primer will lock it down so it won't come out again. Anyway You get the idea spend the time to do it right. Good Luck Tim
