Internal balanced Lsx with a th400. Car has been with this setup for 2 years and no problems. I was at a car show and started to notice a fairly strong vibration that I could feel in the steering wheel and dash shaking.

Unbolted torque converter and slid it back. Started car and smooth as could be. So I thought I hurt the converter, sent the converter back to PTC and they cut it looks new and no problems at all.

This vibration is noticed in park and neutral.

Only thing I can think of is a bent flex plate maybe that when the converter is hooked to it and throws things out of balance and vibrates?

I need to remove it and check it to be sure but that is my only thought at the moment.

any other ideas?

you obviously already checked the balancer? not many things can cause a vibration when not moving, does the transmission shift and work properly?

I had a little of the same issue when I changed transmissions last year. I first thought that the tranny sat to low in the rear and caused a issue. I remembered an old trick I saw years ago.. I cut pieces off an old inter tube and folded it over three times and cut holes in it and put them between the frame and cross member on both sides. It took the vibrations out that passes to the frame. I then took sharp razor and trimmed it up and you can's even see it.
