VIN Decoding

I have a 1978 Ford LTD II Coupe and it's been modified to some extend and surely does not resemble your 'dad' old LTD. I fixed up the interior, started to chrome the motor, put a edelbrock 4 barrel on it, got a flame job, etc. For more info and pictures check out the link at the bottom. Motor and Tranny are still stock but I would like to find out more about my car. So far I have not found a website that could help me decode my cars VIN number so that I can find out more about my ride. So does anybody out there know about a website or a place where I can get my VIN number decoded ?

VIN code

What is it you are wanting to know from the code? My code book only goes up to 78-79 on some things.

If your vehicle has a warrenty code plate or sticker, I may have better luck with that.

Try www.autoinsurancetips.com for a starter.....

I think there is a Ford site out there but I didn't bookmark it, I'll be back if I find it.

Write to ford from here and ask for the 'oroginal specifications and optional equipment' for your vehicle, in a couple weeks one of these should arrive telling you what you have (or should have)
