VIN location help

I got this chevy circa 1984 C30 pickup truck chassis the cab is gone, I wish to find out what exactly it is but since there's no VIN I can't, someone told me chevy stamps a VIN number somewhere in the chassis but I can't find it, anybody knows where it is located?
thanks
Augusto.

Don't know if your truck still has the rad support or if the vin was stamped there but on Camaros they were stamped there as well as on a body tag. See this site:

http://www.nastyz28.com/decode.html

Why do you need to know the vin? If you are replacing the body use the vin from it.

Hopes this helps. If not try phoning your Chevy dealer.

I want to know what kind of stuff I'm working with, there's no rad support, could it be somewhere in any crossmember?
Chevy dealers here have no clue, chevy for them means Isuzu junk.
Augusto.

VIN location help

If you want to know what engine, transmission and rear end you have there are sites that have that information. Is that what you are looking for?
