VIN number on 1937 Chevy Master deluxe

Hi Everybody,
I hv just purchased a 1937 Chevy Master Deluxe and i am trying to restore it. Looking for its Chassis No, but hv not been able to find it. Though there is a aluminium plate riveted on the cowl under the bonnet, but it does not have any numbers marked on it. I presume it was put by FISHER & co who made the body in those days. Would much appreciate if anyone can let me know where to look for Chasis No on the body of the car.
Thanks.

1937 Chevy uses the engine number as a vin.. if you have the engine your in luck as it will be pretty easy to find.. if not, the number is usually on the chassis near the master cylinder.
