vin number location on 57 a chevy

I just bought a 57 chevy convertable but the car doesn't have a vin tag like alot of others I have seen or title. I've heard that the numbers where stamped on the frame under the drivers floor board and of course I can't find it can anyone give me a better idea of the location.

you've got 2 tags
1 inside driver door i think on the post and in the engine compartment under the heater core inlet your looking for a "2434"number
they made 47,562 of them 3rd lowest production numbers for that year

i just happen to be looking up some numbers for my old mans junk he was feed ing me a line
hes got a 57bel air sport sedan(4 door hard top) rusted to hell and hes telling me they only made 840 of them .... wellhe missed the # by about 137,000

any how good luck w/ your new /old car they are georges cars (i hope they fix the spell checker soon)
post some pics if you can
