Post vin numbers

Just purchased a 1980 GMC van. Needs new support bearing for drive shaft and I can't find anything to help me. It has a 350 motor and a 400 trans can anyone help with vin code its TGL25A4504670. Thanks. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

You mean your local parts supplier cannot get one. I don't believe the VIN isn't going to do you any good.

Tell the parts store you are looking for a 'carrier bearing' they should be able to help you out.

Parts store needs to know if its a 1/2 ton 3/4 ton ect. To get the right part. Thanks

Is it a G10, G20,...?
G10 = 1/2 ton
G20 = 3/4 ton
G30 = 1 ton
Have you tried the parts store yet? They should be able to figue out what you have...

that there is where the problem lies someone did a home paint job and took all the lables off so there is no info to tell what series it is lol

Take out the old bearing assembly and match it up at the parts store. There should only be 2 choices. Even if you knew the truck designation that would not guarantee it uses the indicated bearing assembly from a catalog. GM kinda didn't follow the rules on these bearings and driveshaft deals. 25+ years in the parts business have taught me that!
