VIN # and rear end gear ratio

first i would like to thank the guys who answered my "trans knock" thread, turned out to be the converter. So im upgrading my trans anyway to 200r4 trans, but the company who's building said they need the rear end gear ratio. was wondering if anyone could tell me what it was off the vin#.
79' olds cutlass
tag on the dash reads
*3R47H9M511910

tag on the fire wall reads like this
79 03A 3AR4 459417
19V 19L 19U L
B51 D35
A0 515

if that dosent help, can anyone tell me how i can figure it out without taking off the rear end cover.

If it has the original gears in the housing, you can use the alpha-numeric code stamped on the right-hand axle tube. It's usually stamped (sometimes lightly) in the upper front part of the tube, just a few inches outboard of where it meets the center housing. It's usually covered with dirt & grime, so bring something to scrape with when you go under.

Here's some code info: http://tech.oldsgmail.com/axle_useage.html
