Vintage Street Rodder Magazine placemats.

You know, I just spent quite a long time writing up an auction on ebay for these placemats. The thing is, I sold myself on how cool they are. I am going to go out and put them up on the garage wall like I had them almost 30 years ago.

They are pretty cool, had the biggest names in the business at the time. Boyd's "Silver Bullet" , Pete Chapouris (of Pete and Jake fame) "California Kid", Richard Zocchi's "Cool Fifty" that brought back Customs, and the editor of Street Rodder Tom McMullens DOHC Moser headed SBC powered Duece roadster.

I have to wonder, how many of these did they sell? I bought them right from the Street Rodder pages around 1979-80? God knows they have no value anyway, that is where I stopped and deleted the ad. I got to the figuring out the opening bid and thought ten bucks? Then it hit me, these things are worth ten bucks to me so I put them back on the wall. I had been protecting them in a box for years, what the heck good is that, for 10 bucks? No, I put them back on the wall. I dig the stuff on the walls of my garage, lots of memories and these things carry some good ones.

Who else has cool garage wall stuff? One of neighbors when I was young had all his old license plates. I thought that was cool and kept a few (not all) of mine... I also have a couple of pictures of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison....

I have a pretty fair run of the old Snap-On calendars, the real ones with GIRLS in them before they were banned.

You just have to figure out which one actually lines up with the current year.

When I get bored I'll fill in the missing ones..............

Also have some great shots of WWII aircraft, Corsairs mostly.
