vinyl quality

Hey everyone, has anyone had any experience using "whisper" vinyl that you can find in the local fabric shops like Hancock, JoAnn, or G-street for seat covers? I used some of this stuff for simple door panels and it worked out pretty good. But door panels and seat covers are two different animals. I'm not sure if this vinyl is too thin. What qualities do you look for when shopping vinyl that will be used for seat covers? I did the door panels myself and initially figured I would farm out the seat covers. But after reading many many posts, articles, and other web reading, I figure why not try and tackle my basic seat covers. This after all is a "project" car right? What vinyl would you experts recommend for seat covers and from where? Thanks for all the help. And also just a general thanks for all the good I've info found on this forum.
